Lieber Matthias,
Danke fuer das Schreiben! Wir haben uns ueber ihren Brief gefreut. Hier ist die Uebersetzung des Briefes:
Hello dear viewers from Indiana!
I hope you're doing well. Thanks for writing. I'm glad you're following my webisodes.
To answer you questions, Oktoberfest was excellent. I thought that I would feel strange being there alone, but the atmosphere was so captivating and friendly that it was easy to make friends. I talked for a while with a nice person about life in the former East Germany. A very interesting topic. Mr. Bryant has surely told you about Germany's long and complex history. The separation of German was and is a hotly debated topic. (By the way, you'll see a bit of the wall in my next webisode!)
France was very beautiful. I more or less grew up in France and have many friends there who know me from my childhood. It was also nice to spend some time with my parents. Hopefully I'll be able to find the time to visit France again.
My apartment is halfway set up, and I'm still missing a few pieces of furniture, one of which is a couch. Thank goodness I have a few chairs. To be honest, I spend very little time in my apartment, because I'm busy with my studies and with the JYA project. When I'm not studying or filming, I spend a lot of time in the cafes and lounges in the area. Soon I won't be able to do much, though, because it will become very cold! It can be as cold here as it is in Moscow!
Now I have questions for you! What are your names? Would you be so kind as to send me pictures of yourselves? What about Berlin interests you - what would you like to see?
I look forward to your next letter. Your German is, by the way, remarkable - you have Mr. Bryant to thank for that, and also for your general interest in Germany and Europe. I still remember how difficult it was for me to learn German, so I can only advise you to continue to study, because if you use the language to hold open the door to Europe, you'll allow yourselves many opportunities. Keep it up!
With many greetings,
Matthias
